I was on Twitter yesterday when Kate from Kate Landers Events asked if anyone loved Martha Stewart Living's free templates and if anyone had time to use them. I replied that I do love them, but rarely have time to play with them. Well, Martha Stewart living replied back to all of us and asked if we would try the 4th of July templates. OK...seriously...if Martha's people say try it...I am gonna try it! So, I set aside some time that Aly (my 5 year old) and I could do some baking together. While the brownie's were in the oven I downloaded Martha's Medallion clip art set , 4th of July candy container clip art and Toothpick Flags and printed them all out. I did re size the medallions to make the brownie picks as well as the lollipop stick sign, but the rest were printed at their normal sizes. I then cut everything out and started assembling. Everything was ready to go once the brownies had cooled off. I used the "candy cup" label around my water bottles and they fit perfectly. Instead of putting the flags on toothpicks, they went on lollipop sticks to decorate the marshmallow pops.
Try adding a cream cheese layer to your next batch of brownies. Mix together: 1qty 8oz package of softened cream cheese, 1/4C sugar, one egg, 1/2 tsp almond extract then add 1/4C mini semi sweet chocolate chips. Pour half of your brownie batter into a 9"x9", add your cream cheese mixture on top, then add remaining brownie batter. Bake at 350 degrees for 52-57 mins. Cool and keep refrigerated. YUMMY!
Marshmallow pops were created by placing a marshmallow on a lollipop stick, dipping the marshmallow into either melted white chocolate or milk chocolate. Aly's job was to shake the sprinkles onto the warm chocolate before they set up. Cute..huh?!
OH and they are gone already...my kids devoured them!
Super easy treat, make a pan of Rice Krispy bars, cut them into rectangles then make a wrapper with parchment paper and a pretty seal.

Thanks Martha Stewart Living for getting me to stop and make the time to create these tasty treats with my kids (OK the boys didn't help, well... unless you consider eating them helping).
Happy July Friends!!
